Hila was born and raised in Bnei Brak, Israel to a Yemenite immigrant family. She attended an all-girls school until the age of 18. Hila started acting when she was 16 in Beit Zvi, The School of Performing Arts, in its after-school youth program for acting, singing, and dancing where she discovered that she had a gift for singing. At 18 she enlisted in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) for her mandatory military service and was stationed by the Philadelphi Corridor of the Israeli-Egyptian border as an observer.
After the military service, Hila decided to follow her dreams. She quickly got accepted to The IMTC, the first Musical Theatre Company in Israel and performed shows such as I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, and Living in Harmony, which was selected to be performed in the Theatre Fall Festival at Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2009.
In 2011, to further pursue her dreams in the arts, Hila moved to New York City to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) where she performed in drama and musical showcases during her last semester.
Since graduation, Hila joined Sanctuary Playwrights Theatre as a core artist, starred in her cabaret show at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre, and was invited to perform songs in fundraising concerts and other events around NYC. In film, Hila was cast to play Roya in the feature film Appropriate Behavior by the up-and-coming filmmaker Desiree Akhavan (The Miseducation of Cameron Post), and as an ER doctor in the feature film The Closer, which won Best Feature Film in nine film festivals including Manhattan International Film Festival.
On TV, Hila was cast to portray Antoinette Stephen in NBC’s Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall. The episode focuses on a true story that took place in 2011, in which Antoinette killed her boyfriend’s wife on his orders.
Hila’s film El Cat was accepted to the official selection of HBO’s Women in Comedy Festival and competed for Best Short Film in Boston in April 2018.
In 2019, Hila was invited to headline a show for Freidom’s annual FreiFEST festival. The performance was successful, and Hila has since become the lead FreiFEST performer, with performances in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Since 2023, Hila has been a proud member of Theatre68 of NY, a bi-coastal theatre company led by artistic director Ronnie Marmo. The company develops and produces original work year-round, including its annual One-Act Festival, as well as new works by emerging and established artists.

Since 2025, Hila has also been part of The October 7 Project, a 100% verbatim play drawn directly from survivor testimonies of Israel’s darkest day, with an upcoming performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Hila is fluent in both Hebrew and English, and is currently studying Arabic through private lessons.
